i know...but its so funny.. they are on good terms. My FMIL says to me 'don't worry honey... i am going to hit him (FFIL) for some cash.' She has been sooooo helpful with helping me plan this wedding.

Re: Invitation Wording

i just found this

How do I word my invitation?
When your parents are divorced, it'll all come down to 'who's paying' for the wording and/or 'who has raised you'.

If your mom has not remarried and is hosting the wedding use a combination of her maiden and married name.
If your mom has remarried and is hosting the wedding put her remarried name on the invitation. 'Mrs. (mom's first name and remarried last name)
If your mom and step dad are hosting the wedding put 'Mr. and Mrs. (his first & last name) request the honour of your presence at the marriage of her daughter's wedding.'
Your parents will host the wedding together and your mom still uses your dad's last name,
'Mr. (dad's first & last) and Mrs. (mom's first and maiden)' or 'Mr. and Ms. (dad's first and last name)

* If your situation is very complicated or arguments are started over wording, may I suggest that the couple's invitation read as if they are hosting their own wedding. You can also see more about wording invitations in our Do's & Don'ts section under Wording Invitations.

Re: Invitation Wording

when the groom’s parents are divorced and included on the invitation,

Mr & Mrs Charles Andrew Jones
request the honour of your presense
at the marriage of their daughter
Mary Lynn Jones (bride)
To
Edward Paul Hill (Groom)
Son of
Sheila Jane Hill
Donald Lawrence Hill

Yes. thank you that is my baby. Se is a girl but because she is dark they think she is a boy. I should have put a barrette. Didn't you see she has her wedding dress on. She is already ready for the party!!!

Re: Invitation Wording

I think I'm going to end up using something along the lines of:

Together with their parents,
Brides Name
and
Grooms Name
request the honor of your presence....
