Invitation wording

Invitation wording

I know that there have been posts about this recently...but I didn't really get to view the responses in depth so I am going to ask again...

How should I word the invitation to ensure that ONLY adults attend? I am going to have the envelopes written out specifcally to who is invited, but there are always those people who think that they can bring everyone in their family...Ugh!!! We definitely want an adult only reception...and we also dont want any other strays to come waltzing in with our invited guests...i.e. my aunts CRAZY brother who lives with her (she and I are not blood related). This is completely stressing me out! Help!

TIA!!

Re: Invitation wording

On the bottom of the invitation you should but 'Adult Reception' and on the RSVP you can also put that.

When adressing the invitation make sure that you dont write & Family... not that people still wont put their kids on it...

Re: Invitation wording

ITA ... just wrote 'Adult Reception to follow' (if the ceremony and reception are at the same place).

You can also talk to people who have kids and make sure they understand (or have your parents talk to them)

Re: Invitation wording

i would not put it on the invitation itself but you can put 'Adult Only Reception' on the response card.

also you can personalize the response cards:

2 Seat Have Been Reserved For:
Mr. & Mrs. Smith

also when people ask about the wedding, constantly stress how its adult only.

Re: Invitation wording

make sure the wording on the envelope is specific to who exactly you want to invite. If you don't want strays, check the response careds to make sure they didn't add extra people.
