So I know I have a while before I do my invites, but I had a question about wording.
My parents gave FH and I a substantial gift towards our wedding (they're paying for about 20% of it). So far, FH's parents haven't given us anything other than $100 at our engagement party (and they paid for 1/2 the party).
Do I include them in the language of the invite? I don't want to make anyone upset, but I also want my parents to get the recognition they deserve.
Thoughts?

Re: Invitation Wording
i think someone asked the same thing yesterday in another post.. i think the best way to please both parties... is to say the following:
Mr. and Mrs. Smith Request the pleasure of your presence at the wedding of their daughter Jane Smith to Rob Jones son of Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
something along those lines..

Re: Invitation Wording
Well FH parents are putting $$ towards parts of the wedding but my parents are paying for the RH so we worded it as so.
So FH parents are mentioned on the invite so if the $$ your parents gave you is really going to the RH then you could do it this way.
but there are ways to have it so it sounds like both parents are hosting the whole thing...
this would actually be the correct way to word the invite.

Re: Invitation Wording
My parents are paying for the whole wedding and my FH's parents are not paying for anything. They are spliting the engagement party. I'm putting both sets of names on the invitation because they are his parents, they are technically 'giving him away' and it would just cause arguments if I didn't. I don't think its worth the fight that you will have by not putting them on there. What does your FH have to say?

Re: Invitation Wording
I have no idea how to word my invitations since I am already married but never had a ceremony or a reception.
