Invitation wording

So I showed my mom different possible invitation designs and before she said anything about the actual designs, she said 'there is no AND in the year two thousand thirteen.' I remember being taught this in school and I don't have a problem talking to my invitation designer about it. I guess I'm just wondering how you guys are doing it.

Invitation wording

See that's always what I've done but I just checked a bunch of the invitations in my designer's portfolio and they all say 'AND'. I just feel like a jerk 'correcting' her. I'm an english teacher and sometimes correct people when they really don't want to be corrected. It's kind of a bad habit of mine...lol

Invitation wording

I just checked my proof and it's just 'Two Thousand Thirteen' but the invitation from the book we saw it in had an 'and' so people do use the 'and'. But you do what you want.

Invitation wording

No 'and.' Only say the word 'and' at a decimal point.

I completely understand. I'm a speech pathologist and I work with kids so I correct grammar a LOT and it carries over to my life outside of work too. What if you ask her instead of 'correcting,' her? ('Could we take out the 'and'?) or blame it on your mom. ('We love the proofs, but my mom doesn't like the 'and.' Let's just take it out.') No harm done.

Invitation wording

I had her change a few punctuation marks on mine. She didn't have a problem changing anything at all. She did use 'and' with my year too, but I think I may like it better that way anyway.

You are paying her for this service so you can make any corrections you want! lol.. You don't even have to say I need a corrections, just say you want the 'and' removed'. (If that is what you want).
