Invitation wording dilema

Invitation wording dilema

I have seen several different answers to this question and I have to decide this week how I am going to be wording my invitation.

Both of my parents are remarried and I do want my step-parents names on the invites.

Which name goes first..my mother and step-father or father and step-mother?

2nd question. Is it horrible if we don't put FH's parents on the invites? They are also divorced and FFIL is re-married. FH & I thought that it would be too wordy to include all of those names. Additionally, my parents are 'hosting' the reception so, we thought it would be fine. Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated.

I would just put both sets of your parents on the invite and leave FI's off.

If they are hosting the rehearsal, you can put their names on those invites.

Just because I have heard different things I would check with you FH if that is ok with him & his parents. I know from experiences of friends that leaving off parents was a huge problem. IF you FH isn't close to his father's wife then I would put

your parents & step parents

your name
to
FH's name

& then just his parents names

Ms. XX & Mr. XX (even though they might have 2 last names)
