Stuck in the middle trying to figure out wording on invitations. Trying to please everyone didn't work like I thought it would. My mom wants their names on top because they are the brides parents. His mom wants their names to not be put on the bottom as an after thought. Help!! What did everyone else do? My parents are paying for lets say about 50%. We are paying 25% and his are paying 25%. How would you word it?

Re: Invitation wording nightmare
we had pretty much the same thing except we are paying for 60% and the other 40 was split between my mom and his parents. My mom wanted her name on top, and we didnt want to leave his parents out so we just did
Ms So and So and Mr and Mrs so and so request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their children....
this way we pleased both sides.

Re: Invitation wording nightmare
We are paying for the whole thing, but I wanted my invitations to be traditional so we are putting both of our parent's names on the invites. I agree with the other ladies above on the wording

Re: Invitation wording nightmare
The payment for the wedding was pretty much like yours. Traditionally the brides parents ALWAYS go first, on invites, walking down the aisle (mom), intro to the reception...
We did: Jane Mary daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Doe request your presence when she marries Michael Nicholas Son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith

Re: Invitation wording nightmare
since your parents are paying for the majority of the cost I would suggest doing what I did (I was in a similar situation as you were)
because you have shared in their lives by your friendship and love Mr. & Mrs. (Brides parents) request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Kristen Ashley H to Arthur William P son of Mr. & Mrs. (Grooms parents)
(then all of the church and reception information followed)

I like this way!! I'm in the same boat..so I think we are going to go traditional way with my parents first.
