invitation wording question

invitation wording question

We're not getting married in a church...too complicated with getting married out of state between figuring out where guests go in b/t the ceremony and reception, getting there for pre-cana, etc.

HOWEVER, we are having a fairly religious ceremony (getting married by an Episcopalian Reverend, receiving communion, religious readings and prayers...)

Do you think it would be inappropriate to have 'request the honor of your presence' on our invitations? I read that it would NOT be against etiquette to do that, and that it would be fine.

Opinions?

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't word it that way.

I didn't even know that was supposed to indicate you were getting married in a church.

yea...i'm pretty sure that wording has nothing to do with where the ceremony is, or how religious it is...it's more about formality.
