Invitation Wording Questions

Hi ladies! I found invitations that I love and the price is amazing! I have a couple of questions before I place the order

1. Our ceremony is at the venue and starts at 7:30 pm. I emailed the banquet manager yesterday to find out about putting an earlier time on the invite, as the person at the hotel block we are using suggested this. He said to put 7pm on the invite and guests could arrive at 7pm. Does this sound right? What if they get there beforehand? What are you ladies having the ceremony at the venue putting?

2. My fiancé does not have a middle name (weird I know lol)... I wanted to put my middle name on the invite because I just think it sounds nicer but I feel like it looks weird to have my entire name on there and then just his first and last name. Should I leave my middle name out completely?

**I just uploaded a picture to my 'Wedding Stuff' of the invite with my full name (with middle name) and his full name...ladies please give me your honest opinions should I take my middle name out?

Invitation Wording Questions

I had the same problem with my invites. Our ceremony starts at 6:30 but out invitation girl suggested we put 630 on the invites because people will most likely show up before hand.

I also don't have a middle name, but FH does...yes it's very weird LOL so we are just putting our first and last name only.

Hope this helps!

Invitation Wording Questions

We put the actual start time. FH hates his middle name so I was shocked when he said ok to use our middle names. Our middle names are Marie and Alejandro so his name looks much longer than mine on the invite, but it still looks ok. Is it possible to preview what yours will look like before you buy?

Invitation Wording Questions

Hmm now I'm a little torn. However, the ceremony is in Smithtown and most of the guests are from the Riverhead/Wading River area so I think I may end up putting an earlier start time (maybe even 7:15) just to ensure everyone is there and seated before the ceremony begins. Still unsure about the names though... I do have a PDF of what it will look like. I just think it looks 'off'... might end up taking my middle name out and just doing first and last :)

We put the actual start time.

As for your middle name, why not! That's your full and his first and last is his full name. I don't think it looks weird at all.

Invitation Wording Questions

People are always late. Any wedding I've been too where the ceremony is at the place the bride and the groom all put an earlier start time. It definitely helps. I was just at a wedding on Friday that was supposed to start at 3:30 and people were still walking in at 3:40/45....even the two people who were doing a reading. My brother got married on a Friday and put a half hour earlier start time. And it def was a good idea. The venue should have a bar area where guests could get a drink or hang out while they wait. And yes Anyone that's late misses out!

Invitation Wording Questions

Just saw your sample invite and I think it looks great as is. If you love your middle name and want it there, then leave it :) as for time.. I have no idea lol. We went to a wedding where the invite said 5:30, we got there at 5:15 because I'm always early. Then we found out after sitting there for a half hour that is starts at 6. Then the bride was a half hour late. I was not amused. But when I think about my day, I def don't want late people!! I'll probably put fifteen minutes early on the invite.

I think its fine with your middle name...I also put half hour prior. Was going to put 15 minutes earlier but because then it would be 11:15 most said that looked weird so I put 11:00 for 11:30 start.

Invitation Wording Questions

Just saw the invitation & I think it looks fine with your middle name and his first & last. If you really want your middle name on there then you should have it!

I'm also a Watermill bride and my BM told me I should put thirty minutes prior. He said any guests that arrive early will be put in a room and given champagne (from a champagne tree that they have) until it's time to go to the ceremony space. I think it's better to have guests arrive early than to arrive late. Also, my family & friends are late to everything so I'm definitely putting 30 minute prior on my invitation

I definitely plan to put an earlier time on mine, and I think the invitation looks great with your middle name on it as well!
