Invitation Wording - would anyone notice?

Invitation Wording - would anyone notice?

Hey all, I've been trying to figure out the wording for my invites and I was looking at a few websites for ideas. I've read on a few sites that 'request the honour of your presence' is only supposed to be used if you are getting married at a house of worship. If you're getting married at the reception hall (which I am) then you're supposed to use 'request the pleasure of your company.' But I don't care for the way that sounds. So I'm wondering what people's reaction would be if I did 'honour of your presence' anyway. I'm expecting 1 of 3 responses:
#1 - no way! you cannot do that, it's not proper and its tacky
#2 - do what you want it's your wedding
#3 - i've never heard of that, i don't think anyone will notice.

So lay it on me girls! What's your reaction?

I think the only ones that are up to date with etiquette are the brides to be! I do not think anyone will notice. Who cares? I say go for it!

We did request the honor of your presence.... I really don't think ANYONE will notice things like that.

no one will notice (well maybe another bride who is planning her wedding too)

I don't think people will notice, but why not have something like
'We invite you to join us in celebrating our marriage etc.'

Do what you guys think best....after all it's your wedding.

I got married at my hall and used honour of your presence. I had no idea that was only supposed to be used for ceremonies at a house of worship. I don't think alot of people will know that, or really care honestly. put what you like!

I think it's whatever your preference is. Sometimes the whole invitation process tends to be too formal.

#3! I'm also getting married at my RH and I like 'request the honor of your prescence' much better than that other one!

we got married at the reception site and used 'honour of your presence'

I didn't even know that rule! LOL Nobody said anything about it. To be honest, nobody will notice all these little details that will rack your brain.

my best friend just got married on friday (johnny&maur) and i couldn't even tell you what she wrote on her invites! no one pays attention to those things except the bride. people will just be excited to be invited to your special day! do what you want!!

(and if anyone is really THAT interested in what maureen wrote, i'll go check it out.)
