Invitations

How far in advance did people start looking at invitations?

Not sure what my time frame should be...

Re: Invitations

It's never too early...we started looking months ago....and actually me nad my mom are going ot make them........it looks like a LOT of work.....but really it saves so much money and is fun to do

we went to Stampinup.com and got the catalog. Also try Michael's or AC Moore and get fun stamps and a heat gun and it raises the stamp.

I RECOMMEND IT!! GIVE IT A TRY..I'll show our sample....it looks oo pretty with gold rose embossing

Re: Invitations

We just made our first one last night...124 more to go! For us, I wanted to start early so that I wouldn't be rushing...not worth the stress migraine! I think it depends when you have all the times and places down. If you have the time and info now, why not order them now. One less thing to do when it gets down to crunch time:)

Re: Invitations

I recently found my parents wedding invitation (see below) and Id love to copy it. It is simple, elegant and indicates 'formal'. The only differences would be that instead of having BOTH sets of parents' names at the top, I would have FH's parents names AFTER his. It would read:

Mr. and Mrs Parents of Bride
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
FW
to
FH
son of
Mr. and Mrs Parents of Groom

Mom and Dad got married in 1956 but I think this invitation is timeless. It also demonstrates the sophistication that I want my wedding to have.

Re: Invitations

Thanks for the tips...

I could never make mine, I am not creative at all!!! I wish I was...

And I love the idea of recreating your parents invite!

I'm actually a Stampin Up! Demonstrator, if you need any help FM me!

But, I have to admit that I did not make my own invitations. I did not have enough time, with work, short engagement and everthing!
I do know that my bridal shower invites are home made by my mother. I just don't know anything else
