I'm about to order my invitations and was wondering how everyone worded their response cards? Did you ask for number of people attending or did you just leave space for will attend/will not attend? I don't people to think they have an option as to how many people will be coming to the wedding. But I also don't want to assume people understood who exactly is invited and who isn't. Help!

Invitations
I set mine up like this:
The favor of a response is requested by April 10, 2001
M_____________________________
___ will attend with pleasure
___ declines with regret
You`re right, that you open yourself up for problems if you leave a space for # attending. The guests should fill in the open line with Ms. Doe or Ms. Doe and Guest. I figure we`ll still want to call a few that were invited with a guest, to see if they are bringing one if it`s not specified, but that`s better than leaving the number option seemingly open.
Another hint I read about and followed was to put a small number in pencil on the back, that corresponds to a master list, so you can identify the sender if they forget to fill in their name.

Karen, The pencil marking is a great idea! Thank you so much! I am going to put that into my checklist for invitations so that I don't forget!

I did this. I didn`t need to refer to it because someone left their name off but rather because they scrawled their name and it was my fiance`s cousin with the same last name as about 12 other people who got an invite. I was able to go to my list and figure out whose name it was. So it's definitely helpful in a few ways.
