MY FATHER IS NOT HELPING ME PAY FOR MY WEDDING AND HE WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP ME. NOW I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO PUT ON MY INVITATIONS. MY MOTHER-IN-LAW IS THE ONE HELPING WITH THE WEDDING. SHOULD I LEAVE MY DAD OFF THE INVITATION? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Re: INVITATIONS
Personally, my fh and I are paying for the wedding by ourselves but out of respect for both sets of parents we worded it with their names in the programs but said 'together with our parents, Mr. and Mrs. X and Mr. and Mrs. Y, John and Jane invite you blah blah blah. My mother thought we were wrong and should have said that she invited the guests but I just told her that is the way we wanted it. We did not want to leave them off since they did raise us etc.... and it was easier to put it on then face the consequences of insulting them later. Just my opinion.

Re: INVITATIONS
We are paying for our wedding except for the downpayment my father put on the hall and we have divored and separated parents so we put somthing like .....With a love and respect for the completeness we shall gain as a couple and with the blessings of our parents we will be joined in marriage on Sunday..... this way we didn't have 4 different names on the invite and we didn't insult anyone

Re: INVITATIONS
You can put something like:
Along with our parents:
Mary and John request the honour of your presence.......
You get the pictures.

Re: INVITATIONS
We're getting minimal help, so we're putting 'together with their parents' and not listing any names. Between the two of us we have 6 parents - so we couldn't fit all of the names even if they were all helping.

Re: INVITATIONS
Just to add, my invites will say only my fi and my names. We are paying for it ourselves and I am doing almost all of the planning myself.

Re: INVITATIONS
My husband and I paid for the majority of the wedding ourselves but also got gifts from our parents that helped us a little bit. We worded it 'Meghan and Rob together with their families'.

Re: INVITATIONS
we are also paying for the wedding our selves and since my parents are divorced the whole name thing would get out of hand, so we went with the together with our parents etc.
