Invitations

If I'm doing pocket fold invitations, do I need an inner envelope?

i think inner envelopes are a personal choice... depends on how formal you want to be...

i'm not making pocketfold nvites, but i am making my own invitations. i decided to skip on inner envelopes for several reasons. they make it bulkier to have to stuff the invitation into two different envelopes of two different sizes. it costs more to get another sized envelope. and it's too formal for my daytime affair. i think with the pocketfolds, they kinda count as their own envelope, so you could probably skip it if you wanted to. and i'm afraid they'll be bulky.

Re: Invitations

Every invite I've ever received had an inner envelope.
Because usually the outter has the adress:
Ms. Mary Smith
123 Street
nowhere, NY

and the inner lets you know exactly who is invited:
Mary & Guest
or just:
Mary Smith

Although with the pocket folds I suppose you could write th e'mary & guest' on the outside of the fold, it does kind of create it's own envelope.

My invitation has a bow around it and didn't come with an inner envelope. I don't think it's necessary at all. The last two wedding invitations I received did not have them.
