Im going to look at invitations next week for my upcoming wedding but am not sure what to budget (or what the avergage cost is). Im not looking to go top top but I also am not going to cut corners....any feedback is greatly appreciated...

For everyone i think its different. I didnt want to spend a whole lot . I had seen some that are so gorgeous and I could have spend $1000+ on them but I got mine for much less than I had budgeted and I love them.
Research is all I can say it can save you alot of $$$ HTH

It depends on the kind of wedding your having. Mine is basically black tie w/o the black tie, so we have to spend a bit more on ours. I also have my parents paying for my wedding, so I can't complain.

I've found that the prices can range anywhere from 150 (depending on how many) to 1000 plus like you said. I have seen really nice to fantastic. I also learned that some companies offer the invite,envelopes,response cards, informal note, vellum (that clear paper), return labels, thank yous etc. As Iam searching, I try to remain between nice and my wedding style-remember ultimately you and maybe your family will keep them. I know that I have known to throw them in the garbage. Take your time, it's up to you.
