Invitations.....

When do you send out invitations? My wedding is Jan 2, 2009. We already sent out our save the dates in Dec. I was wondering when is a good time to send out our Invitations?

usually 3 months before. so november 2 , rsvp would be dec 2, and wedding jan. this way u have a month to tally up yes's and no's. i did it actually a month earlier to give myself more time. my wedding was in june, and i sent them out in marc, rsvp in april and wedding in june.

We were thinking about doing it a month or two earlier so it give us more time to get our numbers in to the RH. But we are not to sure if we should or not so I figured I would ask you ladies.

we are sending ours out in the beginning of november with a beginning of december rsvp date so we have a month to know exactly how many people are coming

nooo!!! not a month because then when would the rsvp date be if u sent them out one month before? by the time people get it, rsvp, send it back, the wedding would be over. i was missing like 100 rsvps, past the rsvp date. i didnt get everyone until like weeks before the wedding even though i allowed myself extra time...

I def think thats too early!!!! Just doesnt sound right... October/Nov sounds more reasonable

If you know your family and friends are quick to RSVP, I wouldn't send out invitation too early.
I feel like if people have too much time they might forget about sending the rsvp and then you will have to follow up with them.
I think end of October is plenty. That is almost two months for responses.

I think you don't want to send them too early because then people are likely to forget the date!

i would send mine out 3 - 4 months before... only because ppl would have a chance to respond.. and they can't give me an excuse as to oh, i didnt have enough notice...
