where can i find an invitation place that will let me bring home the books of samples? The store needs to be in Nassau county new york!

I really don't think anybody will let you do that. At best they might let you make a copy. Your best bet (if you want to have the invite in your hands, or show someone who can't leave the house) is to order samples online and have them shipped to you. I know invitationsbydawn and americanweddings send free samples. Other companies (like weddingpaperdivas) charge you per sample.
