Re: invitations???
I think it's a great idea as long as you have a good printer.
I DIY'ed my e-party invitations and there was toner smudged on a lot of them... I had to go back and buy a lot more (of course the store was out of them so I had to go to another store)...Then I realized I printed the addr wrong so I had to go out and buy all new ones and re-print them all. I also tried to do DIY place cards for the e-party and they printed out all messed up. My printer is good at printing out normal pages but for some reason it doesn't like higher quality (or thicker) paper lol.
I just got an invitation from one of my friends that came out great (she did it herself) but when I spoke to her she was like 'Is it crooked?'. The one that I got wasn't crooked but apparently some of them printed out all weird lol.
If I had a better printer I would definitely do my invitations myself, but right now I think it would be an added stress that I don't need lol. I found invitations at The Invitation Station in Deer Park that weren't really expensive and they came in soo quick (less than a week after I approved the proof).

Re: invitations???
My DIY pocketfolds are in my album.
I say go for it, but
1) I do agree on the good printer part. We wound up having to purchase a new printer as 1/2 way through printing, the feeder for the paper started feeding the paper on a slant, causing the words not to be centered and slanted...
2) Check out how much it will cost to make v.s purchase ones you like. Sometimes it doesn't pay. We got the paper / pockets at cards and pockets and the embossing stuff at Michaels.. Along with all the tools we had to buy (minus the new printer) came to like $350 total, and I have a ton of ' art tools' for future use, left over paper, and i wasted some on the practices... it saved us like $300 compared to similar invites we liked to begin with...
