i dont really have a theme. Im going for a romantic/elegant feel and my main color is navy with red/silver accents. I dont think i want red in the invite but silver and navy looks too wintery. I also cant figure out if i like having graphics on the invite or if i prefer patterned paper...grrr

I was having the same problem. My colors are Navy and silver with hints of Lime green. When looking at invitations, I kept feeling like the navy ones I saw felt like bar mitzvah. And the silver ones were a little too modern for me.

So I asked some professionals for help and according to numerous invitation places and event planners your invitation does not HAVE to match your colors. It can if you want and it's been popular to do so. It should actually go with your Venue. It should show the kind of wedding you are having, not what the color scheme is.

Made me feel a whole lot better about LOVING the cream, cocoa and gold invites I wound up getting. Matched the Riviera PERFECT! :) and my personal taste too

look in my photo album I have my invites in there they are navy and silver and dont look a thing winterish. remember you can use any color in any season...
