I used 'You're Invited' - very high quality but simple designs. Customer Service is amazing, it's a small company, a person answers the phone and if she can't help she gives you to one of the owners. Prices are right around what you are looking for. There are several designs that are plain if you look at their collection
We are having the same problem.. i think this part blows. no fun at all. try dawn.. there pricing wasnt horrible i found one tat was 88.00 for 125. i ordered a sample wasnt to cheap looking. Good luck ill be thinking of you as i figure this out as well if i see anything i will pass it your way.

Re: Invitations are not fun!!!!
you want letterpress? (I am presuming that, since you mentioned card stock quality...)
marsville press.... If you avoid printing addresses on your envelopes, and want a one pg invitation and RSVP post card, you can do it for about $10 / an invite.... For old-school letterpress on handmade paper, it cannot be beat... (our invitations were gorgeous!!!)

hope this helps...

Re: Invitations are not fun!!!!
OK, first off there is no way in hell a paper/carstock invite can cost $91 and if there is one out there, it better be lined with gold or something. Are you sure that was $91 per invite???
You can find plenty or gorgeous invites from $5 - $10 with no problem
I don't care if Oprah ones that invite company, no way in hell

I think Cranes 40lb weight paper is what your looking for. I've checked their site out and they are expensive but not anywhere near $91 per invite.

Re: Invitations are not fun!!!!
I agree with Lion in the Sun. They have soooo many books with samples and if you have any questions about what can and cannot be changed, they will call the company and ask right then.
My invitiations I plan to order from there were $7.50 each. But they were C'est papier. They have less expensive brands also.

Noteworthy in Woodbury Commons. They have more books of the $10-$15 invitations than many other places I looked.
