Invitations being received!!!

I mailed my invitations on Saturday and started to worry when no one local had gotten one by Tuesday. I mailed them in the Oyster Bay post office in the morning and they told they would be delivered locally on Monday or Tuesday. I had asked one of my sisters to call me as soon as she got the invite so I would know they had made it out. But as of yesterday no one had gotten it. Needless to say I was stressing big time, imagining that someone had thrown them out by mistake and wondering where I was going to find the time to address them all and send them out again!!! Then finally, one of my other sisters called me tonight to tell me that it had arrived. What a relief. Now to wait for the responses!!! That will be exciting.

Invitations being received!!!

Isn't it fun! I love coming home and checking the mail for responses. We had fun guessing woh would respond first. We have received a few funny responses like my parents responding 'we will try to be there' and my sister (MOH) responding 'I think I cant make it'

Responses...

My fiance is funny .. instead of just opening it .. he tries to peak through the envelope to see who it`s from .. since most haven`t come with return addresses. I was beginning to get nervous after receiving about 25 responses back, and only 2 had declined. Luckily things have balanced out a bit, as this week the declines are beating out the acceptances, and we`re approaching the target '20%' refusal range. Of course, we`d love everyone to be there, but we sort of had a really hard time cutting the guest list and sent out more than originally anticipated.

Responses...

That happened to us. We sent out more than anticipated, however, more people are not coming than we thought, and out deadline was July 17, and still have no responses on some. That makes me so mad. Its not that difficult. And some of the excuses as to why some were not coming were pathetic. But the most important people are going to be there, and that means more to me than some relative I havent seen in years.

How long was it before you received your first response? I sent my invites out Wednesday and can't wait to get the responses back.

We sent ours out on Monday, 7/9 and received our first response on Friday, 7/13.

I hope they start coming that quick and I don't have a bunch of stragglers. I have a few more people I would like to invited pending some No's which I hope come first. Then followed by a ton of yes(s). How many have you received to date?

Went out on a Fri, got 4 responses by the following Tue.

We started out getting lots of yes responeses, and I was starting to get a little worried, but now we are starting to see the no responses come in. We have been getting at least one response each day, but usually get between two and four.
