Invitations ...etiquette question??

On my response cards it says:

Please respond by August 30th, 2003

Mr. ____________________

___ will attend

I assume if you are coming you fill in your name but what are you suppose to do with the: ____ will attend? Put a check mark if you are coming and an X if your not??

I know, stupid question

Re: Invitations ...etiquette question??

When I respond to wedding invitations, I usually put the number that are attending. Like, if fh and I are attending, I put the number 2 in there. I hope this is the right thing to do but I'll check back to see

I do the same thing as well (put a 2), for my first wedding though, I had people put a check and a few did not list their name at all! I saw another poster said they put pencil numbers inside to correspond with a list in case that happened (no names). Can't hurt.

I have that on mine and they are all coming back with check marks.

On this type of response card how do people say they can not come?

Maybe they will write '0' will attend or 'will not attend'. We got various responses on our cards, and they were definitely fun to read!

My MIL gave me this piece of advice: number each guest on your list then, in pencil, very lightly number the cards in the back so if someone forgets to put their name down, you will still know who it was from.
