On average, how much do wedding invitations cost? I picked out two different invitations today. They were both of heavy stock and very classy/modern. For 150 invitations, outer envelopes, reply card, reply envelopes and reception cards I was quotes $1300 for one and $1800 for the other (slightly higher quality). This also included all laser addressing on the outer envelope. Does this sound about right or does it seem high? ALso, can anyone recommend any wedding stationary stores in Nassau that have high quality invites at reasonable prices?? Thanks!

Re: Invitations- How Much??
I'm using 'her' for my custom pocketfold invitations. For 125 I'm quoted about $750 which includes all addressing.

I paid about $1200 for 125 invites with inner and outer envelopes at Lion in the Sun in Huntington. I absolutely LOVE them. I know you said Nassau - but try Lion in the Sun in Huntington - they have a HUGE selection and they are so helpful!

I went to long island wedding and event planners boutique and told them i needed invites under 1K and they were able to match what i was looking for...they aren't pocket fold or anything like that but are still very elegant...i ordered 150 invites with response cards, reception cards, and return addresses for $860...I cut cost down by not ordering envelope liners and inner envelopes. hth
I used them too. Bridget and Christine are the sweetest girls! I got so much stuff from them, Invites, Menus, Programs, Seating Chart & STDs. I think for 150 invites with response card, a double sided direction/hotel card, envelope lining and addressing came to about $1,000.

most wedding invite stores will carry Birchcraft products..its simply a company in MA that will hand-craft the invites but the order is placed through an outside vendor usually (the store) and then they process ii in MA, and its sent back to the store. I dont think you can order Birchcraft invitations online - you have to physically pick it out from the sample book and then have a vendor order through them... another company I also looked at was Carlson Craft...they make very beautiful invitations.
I was leery about using mail order companies because the card stock from the samples I received wasn't up to my personal standards (too thin or flaky feeling). What I like about Birchcraft and Carlson is that their paper is very thick and you can custom pick the colors, envelopes, fonts, sizes, etc to your preferences.
you can definitly order birchcraft or carlson on line. Do a google search and you will come up with a bunch of different sites that carry them at discounted prices 20-40% off ALL of the invitations.
I went to the store looked through the books to see what i liked and actually touch and feel the paper etc and then ordered them on line. I knew what i was getting and got it at a better price than the 'in person' store.
Good luck!
As to OP, I used Stylart invitations,, on line.. I ordered 175 pocketfolds, with inner envelopes, direction cards, reception cards, response cards, liner, colored ink., proofs and return addresses (paid extra for mailing addresses through a different company. Inkspun) for just under 700 bucks.
The price you have is not crazy, its just a question of hjow much you want to spend. You can definitly get very nice invitations for less than 1,000 if you want to save on invitations (which I did!)

Party City is where I got mine... and they have about 15 - 20 books of birchcraft, carlsoncraft and a bunch of other invites

Re: Invitations- How Much??
I also used A Bridal Paperie Judi is AMAZING. She has been in the business for over 30 years. They do all the printing there, they are not a middleman, so she can work with any budget. I knew exactly what I wanted. My invites came out to about $4.60 each. They do only thermography (raised printing) which was what my mom wanted and she was paying for the invites, so that was important to her. They did reception cards with addressed envelopes, and return addresses on the outer envelopes. We also did inner and outer envelopes (had a calligrapher do hand calligraphy on our invites). I think for 150 invitations and all the above mentioned things (again, it's NOT laser printing, it's thermography) it was like $860. Here's a pic! Judi is the absolute best. Again, I wanted a layered invite with a bow. She can do more simple, or anything you want! Good luck!

Re: Invitations- How Much??
I went with a more expensive company and am also getting the same components as you, with the envelopes addressed by the company. It was roughly on par with your lower figure. You can get invitations to pretty much suit any budget, but I think that what you've been given is still within the umbrella of normal!

Re: Invitations- How Much??
I'm paying about $5 per invite but I only need 50 invites as I am having a small wedding. However, you can get $150 invitations, response cards and reception cards at weddingpaperdivas.com for about $500.

Re: Invitations- How Much??
The cost of wedding invites can vary from a couple of $$ per invite to more then $10/invite. It all depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend on something that most people are going to throw away. We went the inexpensive route and paid less then $2/invite with all of the inserts and we did computer calligraphy ourselves. I used theamericanwedding.com They will send you samples. I received SO many compliments and never let on how inexpensive the invites were.

Re: Invitations- How Much??
I went to Dazzling Affairs in Mineola for my invitations. The girl was great and she worked with us to find invitations both within our budget and style. We went to another place before hand and we just couldn't justify spending 1k on invitations, especially knowing that people are just going to throw them away. We ended up getting 75 invitations with the response and reception card for around $350.
Everyone is different though and people choose to spend their money on different things when it comes to a wedding. So, it's really up to you to decide. You can get beautiful invitations for $1k and you can get beautiful ones for $400.

If you are looking for reasonable prices, please check out: exclusivelyweddings . com employeeprinting . com
You can order free samples to see if you like them. I ordered 125, with all of the accessories, and it came to about $225. They were good quality card stock, but a plain design. The shipping was twice as quick as they said, and they came in perfect condition. I also recommend weddingpaperdivas . com , but they are more pricey.
