Invitations- How Much??

Invitations- How Much??

On average, how much do wedding invitations cost? I picked out two different invitations today. They were both of heavy stock and very classy/modern. For 150 invitations, outer envelopes, reply card, reply envelopes and reception cards I was quotes $1300 for one and $1800 for the other (slightly higher quality). This also included all laser addressing on the outer envelope. Does this sound about right or does it seem high? ALso, can anyone recommend any wedding stationary stores in Nassau that have high quality invites at reasonable prices?? Thanks!

It definitely depends on the type of invite you pick. We used A Bridal Paperie in Plainview. I believe when all was said and done we paid about $400 for 100 invites. Judi was very patient and worked with me to create an invite I loved. This did not include the addressing on the outer envelope and we did not get reception cards, although we definitely should have, it was only an addition $25. Here is what our invite looked like to get an idea.

my goal is to find invitations for about $2-3 each ... i do realize that it might mean i have to print them out myself.

$1300 and $1800 seem very expensive - that's almost $10 per invite!!! but i'm sure they're absolutely gorgeous

i used a company called Birchcraft Studios...you can go to any wedding invitation store and they should carry the books with samples.
for 75 invitations with the inner envelopes, the reply cards and all that jazz - it came to only $ 350 or so.

i cant justify spending more than 1K or invitations, a lot of guests will wind up throwing it in the garbage..

That's what I was thinking! $1300- $1800 includes everything but it does seem very expensive! Leave it to me to pick the most expensive invites! I think I may need to shop around a bit! Can anyone else recommend a store that had a very large selection of higher end invites (in Nassau) ? Ideally, I would like to spend closer to $1200 for everything.

Is Birchcraft online or do they have a store? Where is it?

It really depends on what type of invitation you're looking for. We're not planning on spending a lot on the invitations; we found some beautiful ones on Costco, which we can 250 for about $265

I found my invitations on the American Wedding $170 for 75 invitations. I really didnt want to spend a fortune on something people are just going to throw away.

Re: Invitations- How Much??

most wedding invite stores will carry Birchcraft products..its simply a company in MA that will hand-craft the invites but the order is placed through an outside vendor usually (the store) and then they process ii in MA, and its sent back to the store. I dont think you can order Birchcraft invitations online - you have to physically pick it out from the sample book and then have a vendor order through them...
another company I also looked at was Carlson Craft...they make very beautiful invitations.

I was leery about using mail order companies because the card stock from the samples I received wasn't up to my personal standards (too thin or flaky feeling). What I like about Birchcraft and Carlson is that their paper is very thick and you can custom pick the colors, envelopes, fonts, sizes, etc to your preferences.

Re: Invitations- How Much??

it really depends on how many layers, is it pocketfold, z card, the detail and any embellishments

its not outrageous but with everything, there are always a range of prices for something... at about $10 and invite thats more on the higher scale but not unheard of

100 invites, response cards, and return address printed on envelope came to $850. Calligraphy will probably cost $1.50 an invite.
