invitations list

My wedding is September 6, 2009. I have an 'A' list and a 'B' list when should I send out the first batch and what should the RSVP be?? Then the 'B' list with what RSVP date

I'm sending my invites out around mid to late March, and telling people that even though the RSVP is June 27th (two weeks before the wedding as per our RH's request), we really need your response ASAP. This way, we can invite more people to make our min if it comes to that.
