dropping them in a mailbox or bringing them to the Post Office? I don't know what I should do...

Bringing them to post office and hand stamping myself.
I did this for e-party and my post office was great about it. I just stepped aside and stamped them.

We brought them to the post office. We didn't have any problems. All our guests got their invitations.
