Invite Address Question

How do I address an envelope to a married couple where the wife is a doc and goes by her married name.?

Would it be:

Mr. John Smith and Dr. Jane Doe?????

--Also how about two married docs with different last names??

Dr. John Smith and Dr. Jane Doe????

Re: Invite Address Question

If she goes by her married name it should be:

Mr. & Dr. John & Jane Smith

or

Mr. & Dr. John Smith (depending on how traditional you want to be)

If she goes by her maiden name then I would separate them.

Re: Invite Address Question

I ran into this problem with my invites. I've read that the person holding the degree always comes first.

She's a doctor, he's not:

Dr. Andrea Jones and Mr. William Jones

or

Dr. Andrea Smith and Mr. William Jones

If they're both doctors and they share the same name, it can be written:

Dr. Andrea Jones and Dr. William Jones
Drs. Andrea and William Jones
or
The Doctors Jones

if they don't share the same last name:

Dr. Andrea Jones and Dr. William Smith
Dr. Andrea Jones-Smith and Dr. William Smith.

got my info from this site
HTH!!!!!
