Invite dilemma

Invite dilemma

Okay so my wedding is this saturday and I have an invite problem. I invited a girl that I used to work with because we had stayed in touch over the years. We have fallen out of touch lately because she has been busy with things. When the invites were due I emailed her just to make sure she was coming...she hadnt answered a bunch of my emails and I actually thought she just didnt want to be friends anymore! So she responsed pretty quickly when I emailed her asking if she was coming to the wedding and she said of course and apologized for not mailing in the response card and I received it 2 days later saying that her husband and her will be there. Well I havent heard from her since really...a few emails here and there and now I'm worried that she wont show up at the wedding. I emailed her twice with no response and just left a message on her voicemail. I still havent heard back and I'm not sure what to do. I have her at a table of 8 and if she doesnt show up there will only be 6 people. Should I just assume she is not coming and add a few more people to that table just in case? I just cant believe how rude people can be...like I wish she would just let me know either way. Thanks in advance!

That's pretty shi++y...but if she told you she was going & then mailed the RSVP back to you, I'd assume she's going... jmo tho

Good luck on Saturday!!!!!!

If you add more people to that table and she does show up, there will be a different issue. I think it is better to have only 6 people wind up at a table rather then there not be enough seating. She might surprise you and show up after all. Either way it is a sticky situation- but leave her at that table of 8.

Congrats by the way!!!

I wouldn't be so offended... Honestly, some people aren't good with email. I have at least a dozen ppl in my circle who don't check email all but once a week or once every two weeks. Some people are put off my Spam and can't handle the task of deleting mails... trust me, FH doesn't check his email... its a hardship. Anyway... that being said, people are just busy. You don't need to speak everyday to have an affection for someone. I would leave the table for 8, or if large enough, add 2 more. 10 is doable, but no more than that. I would also subtract them from the final count when you speak with the RH, just in case. Just be sure to bring the balance if extra people do make an appearance.

IMO I would just leave it or add two people to the table. Good luck on saturday!!

If she said she was coming, then I would assume she's coming. Maybe she just didn't get a chance to call you back afterwards. I wouldn't put other ppl at the table b/c if she shows up, then there won't be enough seating. JMO. Good luck and hope if all works out.

Congrats and good luck on Saturday.

Re: Invite dilemma

I'm sorry I am a little confused, you said she told you she was coming and then sent back the RSVP that her and her husband were coming right? How come you think she is not coming now?

I think you should assume that she is coming being that she has already stated that and don't worry about her not e-mailing you back, maybe she doesn't check her e-mail regularly.

I would play it safe and assume she is coming.

Re: Invite dilemma

If she sent the response card and told you she was coming, why would you need her to respond again or reassure you that she's coming?

Maybe she's just busy??

Yeah I see your point & thats is SUPER annoying but I honestly think you need to have faith in the fact that she said she was showing up & sent in the response card.

Like I said on your '09 post, if she sent in the response card saying she's coming, you need to assume she's coming. You're better off with two empty seats than not enough seats.
