Invite dilemma..Already!

Invite dilemma..Already!

This really should have been decided before I mailed out invites today but now I'm like o crap I sent them out so the family drama will be here soon!

I invited my mothers cousin and her daughter to the wedding. We rarely speak to them but I do talk to her daughter a few times a year. I was invited to her wedding so naturally I did the same. However I did NOT invite her brothers. To be quite honest, I never speak to them. I dont even think the oldest son even remembers who I am. We have each other added on myspace and I still dont think he knows who I am On top of that they have wives/girlfriends that Ive never been introduced to.

The younger son I am assuming remembers me because he commented on my myspace pics of my wedding shower congratulating me.

So yea anyway point is should I just invite them because its the right thing to do because I invited their mother and sister?

I dont think you have to especially if you dont know their spouses

I would invite them...its only right.
But if you feel strongly about it, then don't.
I am in the same boat...and This wedding planning process has been nothing but drama...so I am at the point where I will just invite whoever just to have people stay quiet and dramaless...LOL

i am in a very similar situation ( i keep going back and forth) of course this is just my opinion I would just send an invite if they dont even remember who you are they may not even attend and if they do ( you just avoided all this stress of drama occuring)

I probably would invite them just to avoid family drama. Chances are they probably won't come anyways.

I would probably end up sending them one in hopes that they will decline. I am trying to be picky with my guests for financial reasons - I am trying not to send anyone an invite that when they receive it, they are like 'Oh No, Not Another Wedding'... But if you invited the mother and the sister, they are def. going to hear about it. You have time to stuff 2 more in the mail box!

You also probably don't need the extra aggrevation with the not-so-necessary Family Drama (which is the worst kind of drama). Good Luck with your decision!!

It is a tough situtation. I think if you have the room, it might be good to extend the invitation to your mom's cousin. Sometimes they don't want to offend the family memeber. My parents made me do the same thing. I only recently met them briefly.

I wouldn't worry about it and wouldn't invite them.

I have a similar situation. My 3rd cousin and I are close - she's like a big sister to me. She never lived near me - I got to know her through LETTERS, actually, when we were younger after meeting at her grandmother's memorial service. Her mom and my mom are 1st cousins and grew up together, but the mom moved to CT when she got married, which is why we never saw them. She has 4 bros and sisters. I am inviting her, her mom and her brother (and spouses) to my wedding - not the younger bros and sisters. I have seen them a few times over the last 5 years, but only at my cousin's wedding events (shower, eng party, wedding) or her brother's. I see no problem with it, and actually told my cousin this and she even said, why would you invite them?
