The FH and I want to make sure that our wedding stays small (less than 110 people if that's possible)
but does that mean we have to limit the number of people we invite to the engagement party?
I am not sure if it is okay to invite some people to the EP and not to the actual wedding... And I dont want to offend anyone
EDITED TO SAY: Thank you for responding, I am NOT going to invite anyone to the EP that is not going to be invited to the wedding. Thanks for the feedback!!!

Re: Invite Etiquette
I personally wouldn't invite someone to the engagement party and then not invite them to the wedding.

Re: Invite Etiquette
Absolutely ... No offense but its sort of tacky to invite people to an engagement party (who will give you a gift) and then not invite them to the wedding. Its one thing if you happen to not be friends with them by the time the wedding rolls around but otherwise if you invite them to the engagement party they should be invited to the wedding!

Re: Invite Etiquette
Honestly, I wouldn't invite someone to the EP if I wasn't inviting them to the wedding.

Re: Invite Etiquette
If you invite them to the engagement party...you have to invite them to the wedding, unless something drastic happens. It sort of the same etiquette with Save the Dates...if in doubt....dont invite to engagement party, and then see what your guest count is like later on and maybe you can include them then....

ITA! However in my in my case I invited ppl from work and now I don't work there anymore and only talk to 1 or 2 of my old coworkers. So they will not be invited, oh well.

Re: Invite Etiquette
Definitely do NOT invite someone to the engagement party if you don't plan on inviting them to the wedding.

Re: Invite Etiquette
about 5-10 of my mom's co-workers (who i know fairly well) asked if they could come to the wedding ... we can't invite them because we're keepign it small ... my mom told them that they aren't invited to the wedding, but if they want to celebrate with me, they can get invited to the e-party. they were happy with that option

Re: Invite Etiquette
those that youi nvite to the e-party must be invited to the wedding. its a huge breech of ettiquette if you don't. were they good enough to give a gift for one, but not good enough to attedn the other? know what i mean

Re: Invite Etiquette
I'm having a smaller wedding too and the same people invited to the e-party are invited to the wedding. You can also invite more people to the wedding then the e-party. We did that.
