I have sent my invites out and I am holding onto one that I am not sure what to do about.
The invite is for my boss. I moved down to florida last summer and have been working with her since July. We work very closely and get along well. I don't know if i should give her an invite or not. I would never expect her to make the trip up to NY for my wedding, but at the same time I don't want to offend her by not inviting her.
I have been holding the invite trying to decide what to do. Put it in the mail? Not give it to her at all? or hand it to her personally and explain that I don't expect her to have to make the trip, but wanted her to know I thought of her, blah blah blah.
any thoughts?

Re: invite etiquitte question
I think you should definitely invite her. If you guys are close, she might feel slighted that she wasn't invited to your wedding. She may just make the trip up from Florida because you guys work so closely together so she might surprise you.

You should definitely invite her and give her the option to accept or decline. It is the right thing to do.

Thanks for all the answers!
Now do I mail it to her or hand it to her personally and say something like about how I don't want her to feel obligated....

Re: invite etiquitte question
I could be wrong, but I always thought that you are supposed to mail the invitations and not hand deliver them. Maybe you should put it in the mail but talk to her on the side and say 'I mailed you an invitation to my wedding and I'd love for you to be there, but I don't want you to feel obligated to come knowing that its a long trip for you. But I'd love it if you were able to come.' It'll make her see that you really want her there but that she doesn't feel obligated to come. Hope this helps you in anyway!

If you are close I would mail it she is not obligated to come but it does give her a nice feeling that you considered to invite her.

Mail it, wait for her to mention it. Then explain, you would love for her to be there, but understand the wedding is in NY.....etc.

Re: invite etiquitte question
I would just put it in the mail and send it to her. Let her decide if she wants to make the trip. If she declines, then tell her you understand, but it's always nice to invite your boss

IMO - you should mail it to her and when she gets it let her know you were thinking of her but you would understand if she can't make it
