Invite Friggin Drama

Why do people think they can just invite people that are not on my list? I mean are u paying for it? Heckkkkkkkkkk No!!!

My grandmother wants to invite some family members, which if I might say nicely, aren't on the most pleasant side. I have only met them once in my life. My mom doesnt even want them to come. She brought it up to my mom and my mom was like, I dont want them coming. My grandmother was like well then i just won't come.

I am so pissed at my grandmother right now. How can something like a wedding divide people. It's just a wedding.

that's ridiculous. I would just be like 'thanks a lot for being so understanding and supportive of your GRANDDAUGHTER, grandma. I hope you enjoy the video'

Weddings do strange things to people. My uncle (my mother's BROTHER) is not coming to my wedding because we didn't invite... get this.... HIS MOTHER IN LAW! Excuse me, but we invited almost 500 people and had to draw the line somewhere! I had to cut my list, FH had to, my father had to, etc...etc.... At this stage of the planning, my response is that, he will be the one to regret not being at my wedding, not the other way around.

It s u c k s that your grandmother is behaving that way. I'm sorry...

If they don't get an invite, they can't come - point blank.

I'm going the extra mile and putting the number of people I am inviting so that no one brings someone unexpectedly.

Thanks so much! After hearing horror stories on here and from past brides of guests bringing their children that were uninvited, I didn't want to risk it!

I know its my grandmother's sister that we are not inviting. Its actually her step sister.

I have the opposite problem. My grandmother said she won't come if I invite my aunt (her daughter). My mother (on my behalf) told my grandmother to stay home.

I'm sorry you have to go through this, but weddings do VERY strange things to people. But if you & FH are the ones paying for the wedding then just stick to your original plan. Kindly and respectfully tell your grandmother that you respect her decision not to come but she will be missed and leave it at that. In the end I'm sure she'll go.

Christine I was trying to think of a tactful way to say this and you just hit the nail on the head. Hope you don't mind me 'borrowing' your idea

That stinks! We are having the names of those invited printed on the RSVP card so that it is clear who exactly is invited.
