I need suggestions on great places to go look for wedding invites this weekend. FH and I are going to start tomorrow, and I really want to go somewhere that has a lot to choose from, and reasonable prices! Preferably no further than Nassau County. If you know of places in the Oceanside area...YOU GET A GOLD STAR!

What about using online? www.creationsbyelaine.com was very helpful and nice when I was looking. Also, you can almost always get better prices on line.

There is a place called Paperi (I think that's how it's spelled)... There is one in the Source Mall and one in Broadway Mall. They have lots of books to look through and you can see the actual samples too. I thought that was a nice touch

I had a person come to my home last night. She will actually custom make your invites. She is a vendor here. LA Productions under invites. I needed 125 invites and I have a pretty fancy shmancy type so they cost $950 but she definitely has cheaper ones.

I used Simply Elegant in Bayside. Gail is great. She works out of her home and deals with most major manufacturers. She has all their books to look at. Check out her website
She gets 25% off the book price. I was shocked at how inexpensive my invites were - she actually saw it on my face and commented. It was kind of funny. My invites are already in and I am picking them up this weekend, I can't wait. (I'm not getting married till May, but I am a little anal.)
FYI - she also does favors.

I highly recommend Write Impressions in Merrick, 516-223-9224. They were soo nice and super helpful with my invitation order, and they have a beautiful selection in a variety of price ranges.
You might try online, but I would advise you to order samples before you place an order to check the paper quality. When I was looking for invites, I was so often disappointed by the paper quality of the cheaper invites offered online and in bridal magazines.
