Invite Help

On Sunday, the fifth of June
Two thousand and eleven
At four o’clock in the evening

I read that 4:30 is evening. What about 4?

opinions?

Re: Invite Help

Well, at work, at 4 PM, I still say 'Good Afternoon!' so I'd probably go with afternoon. I consider 5 PM on to be 'evening'.

I think I would say afternoon...

Re: Invite Help

That was my first instinct too but I don't want people to think it's an informal sunday afternoon wedding. It is still a formal event at deseversky

I guess I'll just include formal attire...

What about including 'Formal Reception to Follow'

Re: Invite Help

I'm 4:30, I put afternoon. My invite 'lady' had originally out evening and explained that with winter weddings blah blah sun is down it's evening, but honey we're in JUNE, the days are the LONGEST, so I put AFTERNOON.

Re: Invite Help

It's afternoon. It's the ceremony taking place in the afternoon, not the reception which is very common. People will understand

I would say afternoon. I consider anything after 5 to be in the evening.
