Invite list. oh my god.

Sooooooo my FH and I did a rough draft of our invite list so we can start putting away money for our RH hall since we are paying for it..

at least we have 11 months to really save!!! but still!

Our list is over 200 right now and its not done

omg that's a lot! We're only having around 80. It's times like these I'm glad my family isn't huge

ok, so our famlies add up to 120

I'm a teacher, so I have lots of close coworkers

we do have a ton of the same friends, which is great, but there are just so many lol

my family is very close with our neighbors, and thats like 5 or 6 couples.

my dad was a teacher, and he still keeps in touch with all his coworkers, and we see them all the time, so thats another 30.

we both have lots of family friends that we are very close with

we tried cutting people, but kept saying how could we!?!


I always wanted a big wedding, but geez! lol

My list right now is at 313, it started out at 206 and went all the way up to 350 and I just had to put my foot down. My parents were getting a little out of hand inviting people. I guaranteed RH 200 and am planning for about 250

Yeah, my mom was inviting the most random people, so I was like, if you really want them there, YOU can pay for their plates! You have to know when to put your foot down!

I am PRAYING for 250.

I said that to my mom and she said 'Great add these 10 people' so we had this whole big discussion a/b how its supposed to be me & FH's wedding and we'd like to at least know most of the people there

wow...FH would have a list that big if I let him.

I told him we'd pay for 150 people and that's it. anyone else the family adds is paid by them.

I think u DONT need to invite ur paretns friends.... I mean I would invite My coworkers, clossest frineds... I am sure ppl understand....

But u have to stop being nice to everyone if u DONT want to have 350ppl in ur weddng....
My list coudl ADD up to but I dont want to have more than 100...
Just sit with ur Fh and deicded who is more important to u guys n whos special.....

If u continue addin up everyone 'just because'.. u may end up having more than 400...

Why not cut your dad's coworkers?? Do you see these people more than once a year? Cut anyone who you don't see often, who you don't communicate with more than once a year.

FH's Grandpa is one of eleven

and his Grandmother is one of sevem

and my Mom is one of six

WHY DID YOU ALL HAVE SO MANY BABIESS!!

I thought my list would be a little over 300, but it's actually at 275. I may be adding a few more here and there but that's pretty much it! my mom may be adding a few people i missed too..

I guranteed 225, so Im actually glad since I may be around there...i was thinking more like 250 would be coming.

WOW - we barely have 85 people

we only invited closest friends and family - so yeah my wedding is really small LOL

we have 335 - cut it down to 285 but making an a and a b list. its hard though. I dont want to do it, but we have no choice. I wanted to keep it at 275.

my mom says taht to us all the time! she is like - stop talking to people!

our families are large also, and FH is in 2 fire departments... the volunteers on LI and the FDNY, so thats 2 groups of friends right there, then our mutual friends, etc etc - the list goes on and on... its $$$$ !!!!
we are paying for ours ourselves too so I feel your pain. you start thinking of people in terms of how much their plate costs! haha

my side family wise is close to 150....that doesn't include friends or FHs side! My mom is one of six, and my aunt has 6 kids who now have kids (and some of THEM have kids) so there's nothing I can do- I can't invite one cousin and not another. FMIL told me to cut down my side, but I informed her it was impossible, so we shall see what the outcome will be next October!

That's why we have a limit... Aunts, Great Aunts, 1st cousins - no one beyond that.... If as we get responses from our STD's (for example FH's family from Hong Kong & other Countries) and we see that we can invite more, we will open up and add more to the list.... You have to set limits. We are also keeping a rule that it is an ADULTS ONLY reception.
