I know they say 20% do not come, but together our families make 120. thats like a whole wedding right there!
at least we have 11 months to really save!!! but still!
has anyone else had that many to invite?!

WOW - we barely have 85 people
we only invited closest friends and family - so yeah my wedding is really small LOL
Same here we started at 150 and realized that we would have to skimp on a whole lot to have that many people invited.... since we are paying for the majority of it.
Do they speak to YOU directly or just your parents? I'm inviting family friends that have been there for every family function, I don't see them often but I would appreciate them being there than just friends I see every once in a while. I co-chair a group of 150 people that watch football games together every season, but, I'm only inviting those that I've seen outside of the bar even though I'd love to invite all of them.... It's hard but you have to do it...
We are down to 75-80 now and our room can't fit more than that without a comfortable dance floor...

My guest list was originally 365... we cut out all distant family & friends!!
We are now only inviting our immediate family and close friends and thank goodness we were able to get the list down to 202!

we didnt have 320
but we had almost 200
and we chopped it down to 130
we have to pay for it too...it old FH sorry but people have to go and we both made sacrifices

Yikes. I think (hope) we will end up with about 110....we are inviting 150-160. At least 15-20 of those are considered 'definitely will not attend', and we are sending the invite out of respect (ie, Great Aunt Poppy in North Carolina, my Great Aunt and Uncle in Germany, my college roomie who lives in Alaska, etc) knowing that they will not attend.
I think we whittled our 'could probably show up' list to 130-140. We started at over 200 and made a bunch of cuts. Luckily, we have fairly even sized families and cut the circle at close first cousins.
I think once we sat down and went person by person through the list, it was a bit easier to cross some names off. Our ultimate goal was to be able to have fun, actually eat, and be able to talk to everyone in attendance.
How far out are you going with family? We also gave our parents a quota on their friends to invite, which was helpful. Good luck!

we have 260 and only guaranteed 150 b/c i thought originally my list was gonna be around 175-200. now im hoping for 200 max since we're paying for the whole shebang

When we got engaged we figured the 1st thing we had to do was figure out a #### of people so we can set a minimum for the RH....
Seriously i think FH put anyone on the list that he ever encountered in his life. The kid in 2nd grade who tied his shoe, his prom date, his best friends uncles dogs owner...bla bla bla
I hope this changes by the time we really need to make a list! The list was getting out of hand!

Wow..I'm glad we both have small families.
Our room only holds 100. Our list is 118 (secrectly hoping for only 80-85 )
Since we are paying entirely we went with a smaller room to keep it very intimate and make sure we can spend a lot of time with everyone, but again we have small families so that helps
