My laptop's monitor does NOT turn on. The computer itself boots up, but with no screen. I called HP, and I'm getting a new computer. However. . .my invite list is saved on the hard drive, and stupid me did NOT back it up. My computer is now sitting at Best Buy, and I'm praying that they were able to retrieve my file. Picking it up tonight. . .cross your fingers!!!!!!
THEY ARE CROSSED! and as soon as it comes back on back all that info up on a portable key....omg i have nightmares about losing my guest list!

Re: Invite List/computer NIGHTMARE OF THE WEEK
they should be able to get the info... they will just pull the hard drive out, hook it up to another machine and back it up for you. GOOD LUCK

Re: Invite List/computer NIGHTMARE OF THE WEEK
Oh my goodness how stressful! I'm sure it will all work out. I thought I'd share though that I'm currently using (and slightly obsessed with) Google Docs. Its basically a word processor through google and if you have a gmail acct (and even if you dont I'm sure) you can begin using it by simply opening a document as a 'google document'
The best feature about this is that you can then access your documents (including guest list) from ANY computer with an internet connection! It's basically stored with your user name and you can edit etc. There are both word document and spreadsheets available.
OTHER great feature is you can share the document with anyone with an email address if you want to so they can edit it online too! only one person can edit at a time but this was great bc I shared the list my mom, etc, and she could add people as needed and see my phtogrpaher list etc to help me call places!
Anyways, thought I'd share. I'm such a scatterbrain and would never remember a disk...we also have 3 diff laptops in the house (!) so this allows me to access the same document from any comp.
Sorry for the long post and good luck again with your hard drive!
