need some feedback and suggestions on this. We ordered our wedding invites and did not write 'Adult Reception' anywhere. Fh and I love love kids but bc his family has TONS of kids...no joke! and we didn't want to pick and choose which kids to invite and not, we decided to make it simple and only invite the kids in our Bridal Party. However, we didn't write 'Adult Reception' anywhere on the invite and now some people are telling us we may have a big problem. However, I figure, on the RSVP card, each couple or person invited will put their names and then if there is a problem I could always give a call and let them know it's adult only. This is kinda stressing me out now. The last thing I want is people to be offended or any problems. Any suggestions??

Re: Invite problem
My number one suggestion would be to have an inner envelope. The inner envelope is where you list specifically the names of the people invited in the household, so if only the parents are invited, only their names would appear on it.

This is a good idea, I will def do this as well and spell out the exact names of the people invited.

We are not inviting Kids and I did not not put Adult wedding - If I was inviting kids their names would be on the invite - I think that is very rude if take it upon themselves to invite their kids - When they say how many are attending on the RSVP if I see someone has 4 and I only invited 2 I will let them know their kids are not invited

Yeah, I'll have to make phone calls if this happens as well, I hope I don't have to though.

This is traditionally how this situation is handled.

you could make a little card saying it and throw it into the envelope

Re: Invite problem
I put on my invitation, Adult Reception to Follow... But I am wondering if I should still get an inner envelope to write the names too... I didn't do that.
Tamara, I would maybe write the number in for those that you think will bring their kids. Or you can send it the way it is, and hope they wont bring their kids, but if you get the response back with kids included, you can always call and tell them, no kids!

Re: Invite problem
I am not writing adult reception, not a fan of that wording, I'm simply only addressing it to who is invited.
