When you have an invite that's addressed to say Ms Jane Doe & Guest. Do you put 'and guest 'on the outside envelope and then on the iner just put Jane & guest ? The reason I ask is because my calligapher took it upon herself just to address the outer with just Ms Jane Doe and then the inner says Jane & guest. I wanted and guest on the outer too. Do you think it matters ??

Re: Invite question
That actually sounds correct to me. If you were to put 'and guest' on the outer envelope, that implies that the 'guest' lives with the invitee. Which, if that's the case, they shouldnt be addressed as 'guest', but with their name.

Re: Invite question
Every invite I ever received before FH (and at 34 I received a lot ) said
Ms. Theresa H!@@#$ 1 Main Street etc.
and the inner envelope said
Ms. Theresa H!@@#$ & guest
No guest ever on outside envelope.

Re: Invite question
That's the proper way to do it -- with 'and guest' on the inner envelope.

Re: Invite question
What about if there is no inner envelope? We didn't have one so put and guest on outer envelope...hope we didn't insult anyone
