Ok ladies. This is the deal. We have like 225 on our list. I keep adding up how many i think won't show or who won't come with a guest and the least i can see coming is 195...i wanted to keep it around 175 b/c well we can't afford more than our minimum.
I know it sounds bad that i need people to say no...but i am hoping this happens. Can someone give me some reassurance? I mean its a friday night wedding. The reason our invite list got so high is because my mom added all these coworkers and our neighbors from home..i could go on and on, i mean i'm not mad at her but just wondering what will happen should 200 reply 'yes'. :(

I have 238 on my list.

It all depends. Don't worry too much!

I invited around 230 and my minimum was 180 and I didn't want to go past it. My final count was exactly 180. You might be okay!

Thanks for the responses everyone! After looking at the response ratio thread i feel a little better.
And Carol, of course you and Mike can skip the wedding, that would be a big help!! LOL!!

Just remember too, most of the no's come at the end. Sometime someone wants to attend (but for whatever reason can not) but they are waiting until the last minute to see if their other plans change. Not to worry, you still have a lot of time for the no's to come pouring in!

I am having the same issue right at this moment. I put together the final list last night and my mom is freaking out. Our minimum is 125 and she wants to keep it very close to that. Well we are up to 190 invites. I feel bad because they are paying for it but I can't stop inviting people. How many NO responses do you think I will get?

I have a feeling ours will be the same. 50% are from out of town. Ugh!

Re: Invite response question..kind of freaking out...
the thing is, I feel badly for hoping that 'no's' come in. But I want 175 or even a few less...and so many on our list are people i don't know..so i guess i just really want the people we don't know to rsvp 'no'...i just keep recounting the best case scenario and i think we'll end up with about 195 :( How do we afford 20 more people?? lol...

Re: Invite response question..kind of freaking out...
Good luck with that. We invited 200 thinking about 150 would show. Our total is at about 180, and still climbing. If you go over what your budget is I would talk to your mom (who invited all the extras). Tell her you need a hand paying for these people now. But do remember, whatever you spend per guest you should get back as a wedding present.
