I am going to do wax seals, too. I think I want to use a seal of the fleur de lis

Re: Invite Seals
I would like to get them if I have some extra $$. They look nice but it's not a priority.

Don't wax seals come off in the mail?

Re: Invite Seals
Wax will crack in the mail - its very delicate. But you can use colored hot glue which looks almost exactly like wax and is virtually indestructable and much cheaper. The only negative is that it doesnt crack open like a real wax seal will when the receiver opens it. I think the faux wax seal added a little something to the invitations but they are a little time consuming.

I should have said I am using faux wax that you put into a glue gun. They are time consuming and I have been making a few every so often, but I look the look of them.

Re: Invite Seals
I used gold colored faux wax aka hot glue.. it was pretty easy to do and it looked really nice on the invites...I used the fleur de lis stamp.

Re: Invite Seals
Michaels (they have everything).
Instead of using wax seals, they sell rubber stamps with letters of the alphabet individually. I got a stamping pad in the color silver, and it looks great (I tried it already). No more than $5.00

So you stamp where the seal would be?

Re: Invite Seals
I sent out pics announcing our engagement. We went to office max and I found these cute lil seals that were two hearts intertwined. So I bought the last two packs that were there. Took them to the register (not knowing how much they were). They rang up to a penny a package. I wish they had more, I would have bought all of them!!!

Re: Invite Seals
Fauxwax.com is where I purchased the glue sticks. I already had a gun and I got a double heart stamp at Michaels. I also bought a mat to do them on. They peel off easier that way.
I wonder how the premade ones look? Anyone ever try them?

Re: Invite Seals
Do you also seal the envelope the regular way, just to be sure?
What kidn of map did you use? Would those non-stick cookie mats work?

Re: Invite Seals
I think the premade ones are a hard plastic. So they dont conform to the shape of the envelope.
I think a silpat matte work work. Wax paper would work too probably.
FYI: www.hotstix.com is 1/2 the price of www.fauxwax.com I guess they get to charge more b/c they use the words 'Faux Wax' instead of 'Glue Stick'
