I am thinking of putting 15 minutes earlier than the actual start time on my invites? What is everyone else doing? A little background info, my wedding is not local to either side's of the family. My FI family is all in NJ and 99% of mine is in Suffolk (we wanted to meet in the middle as best we could)
So anyone else doing this also?

Re: Invite timing???
I'm putting 15 minutes earlier. I have a very short time in between my church and CH so its very important that the wedding start on time.

Re: Invite timing???
I just put the time it starts, we have plenty of time so if we run 10-15mins late, its not a big deal.

I'll probably do the same thing...there are ALWAYS stragglers. I'm usually one of them!

Also getting married at the RH, and they suggested that I put 30 mins earlier. I guess its to get everyone to the outdoor location and seated so that the wedding starts on time.
I would put 15-30 mins early just to make sure people are there and in their seats by the start of your ceremony. JMO

Re: Invite timing???
RH told us to put 30 minutes early and they are providing a hospitality station for those who come early

Re: Invite timing???
Well we are getting married at the RH and they actually told me if I wanted to do this the guests would see them setting up but if I wanted to I could have a cash bar open but I'm not doing this. The venue is very small and the ceremony/CH/Reception are kind of all taking place in the same area so I don't want anyone showing up before the ceremony (theres not really a lobby or anything for them to hang around in so they will come in and sit right away) I say check with your church or RH

Re: Invite timing???
i'm prob going to put the actual time the ceremony starts, although i should mention that i have about a YEAR between my ceremony and CH so who cares if we start a little late? (ceremony at 2.30 (not a full mass), and CH at 7...and NO i cant move the ceremony to 3.30..i already asked) plus, i'm always late for everything anyway!

Re: Invite timing???
my ceremony starts at 12:30 but i believe i will put down 12. I talked to my rh about this and they said it was fine and they'll have a hospitality table set up so people won't just be standing there. BUT im also doing this because im getting married saturday of memorial day weekend and i do expect there to be traffic.

Re: Invite timing???
I am putting 30mins before the ceremony. My family are always late. And I got a little scared when I went to my cousin wedding no one was there. I could count the ppl that were there They all arrived late. That's the real reason I decided to put in the invites 30mins earlier.

Re: Invite timing???
hmm... good question, i'm not sure what i'm doing.
I would do it so that people would have that extra 15 minutes if they get stuck in traffic or something.
