Invite wording

My mom is paying for the RH completely (shes a single parent) FH parents are giving us a flat 5k. We are paying for the rest.

Who's name should be one the invites? Just my mom as the host or his parents as well??

Re: Invite wording

We are kinda in a similar situation. My Futher MOH gave us a flat amount (very generous) and my parents are paying for a few things here and there. We are paying for the rest.

We just put both of their names on the invites even though we are paying for the bulk of the affair. We figured it wasnt worth the bad blood and doesnt single one person/side out for not giving more than another. I also think it's a way of showing respect. HTH!

Re: Invite wording

Hey...I had a similar issue so FH and I decided to write:

TOGETHER WITH OUR FAMILIES
ON THIS DAY OF NEW BEGINNINGS,
THE HONOUR OF YOUR PRESENCE
IS REQUESTED AS.....blah bla blaaaa

This way your acknowledging both familes but not giving either full credit....lol

Re: Invite wording

I just stuck to the traditional wording:

Mr. and Mrs. ______
request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daugther

_____
to
_____
son of Mr. and Mrs. ________

Also, my parents are paying for the entire RH.....aside from that, I still wanted their names first anyway.

Re: Invite wording

My parents are paying for the RH, so we put their names and I didn't want to leave out FH's mom, so we put her name too.

We did my parents name first request the honor.....our names and after FH's son of his mom's name.

I think if you put your parents, out of respect you should put his also.

This is exactly what we did.

Re: Invite wording

My parents gave us a LOT more money than his, but to avoid any bad situations we just wrote:
together with our parents.......
( i spoke to my parents first if they were comfortable with that, and they said they wouldn't want it any other way)

My parents are giving us a huge chunk.. his parents are giving us a little more then your fh's parents are.. and we're putting in a big chunk.. and still we said

MY PARENTS + HIS PARENTS request the honor.. etc.

Re: Invite wording

his parents put in a chunk of money...mine gave less (this is my 2nd wedding and his first). we are paying for more than half ourselves...we are going to say 'together with our parents' in the invite..not listing individual names
