INVITE WORDING - MAJOR HELP!!

INVITE WORDING - MAJOR HELP!!

Ok - we have an incredibly blended family.
Here's the deal.
My mom is paying for MOST of the wedding. She is divorced but has a bf thats also paying (they are not married).
My dad (single) is contributing.
FH's mom and her fiance are contributing.
FH's dad (single) is contributing.
FH and I are not paying for anything.
With all of that said - how the heck are we supposed to word this invite?!

Here is what I have so far but I need opinions on how to make it better. Both mom's have agreed that we can use the wording 'together with our families' despite the fact that FH and I are not contributing.

So here is what I have so far:
Together with their families
the honour of your presence is requested as
me
&
FH
join together in marriage
Sunday, the Ninth of September, Two Thousand and Seven
at half past eleven in the morning
location
A reception in celebration of love, friendship, laughter, and family will immediately follow

OR this one - but have to consult the dads cause im not sure how they will feel:

my mom and
fh's mom
request the honour of your presence
as their children
me
&
fh
join together in marriage,
love, friendship, and family
on Sunday the ninth of September
two thousand and seven
at half past eleven in the morning
locatio
Reception to follow

im clueless. i want to include everyone but all those names i feel take away from FH and I. i dont really think the dads will care who's name is on the invite. both our families get along well and they just want us to be happy and dont care all that much about who the hosts are.
i like the idea of 'the families of' but i dont know how to word it quite perfectly.

please post help or FM!!!
TIA!

Re: INVITE WORDING - MAJOR HELP!!

The problem in my opinion with using the 'together with their families' wording is that it implies that you & FH are paying for at least some of the wedding. It is the shortest option though, so if everyone is ok with it, then I say go for it.

And if the dad's and your mom's bf are also paying then you probably should include them on it .... but it can get wordy ...

Ms. Your Mom and Mr. Her Boyfriend
Mr. Your Dad
Ms. FH's Mom and Mr. Her FH
Mr. FH's Dad
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of
BRIDE
and
GROOM

(notice how it doesn't say 'children' ... because there are boyfriends & fh's doing the inviting)

My SIL put the parents' names at the very bottom of the invitation - I just ran to go get it - how would this wording work:

We request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of our children
YOU
and
FH
on the date
at the time

Your mom and bf
Your dad
FH mom and fiance
FH dad

Or something to that effect

yeah all those names are too much. it overwhelms me just to try and figure it out and i know that none of our families will want the fact that they are paying to take away from the fact that its an invitation to our wedding.

do you think theres a better way to write 'the families of me and fh' without making it sound weird? what i really want it to say is:

Our families request the honour of your presence
for a celebration of love, friendship,
laughter, and family as
me
&
fh
join together in marriage
Sunday, the Ninth of September
at half past eleven in the morning
location
Reception immediately to follow

but i cant figure out how to make it sound right...

anyone??

How about this ...

Together with their families
BRIDE
&
GROOM
request the honour of your presence
at a celebration of love,
friendship, laughter and family
as they are joined together in marriage
on Sunday, the ninth of September
at half past eleven in the morning
location
Reception immediately following

OR

Together with our families, we
BRIDE
&
GROOM
invite you to share in our joy
as we are united in marriage
on Sunday, the ninth of September
at half past eleven in the morning
location
Reception to follow

Oh, I agree that all of those names seem excessive! Hopefully your family will understand not including all of their names at the top...or yours will be at the bottom! One of the girls wrote

Our families request...
or you can begin aith a short quote about love, and then write 'we request...at the marriage of you-him...'
or Please join us to celebrate the marriage of...

You can write thir names at the very bottom, not as a vertical list, but horizontally, separated by little scrolls:

Mom~BF~Dad~FH mom and step~FH dad

Re: INVITE WORDING - MAJOR HELP!!

How about....

Ms. YourMom
&
Mr. YourDad

Ms. HisMom
&
Mr. HisDad

along with their loved ones invite you
to share in their joy at the wedding of

You
&
FH
------------------------------------
I had an invite with this wording sent to me a few years back that made me think of the parents listed all at top...it was
Mr & Mrs Brides Parents
Dr & Drs. His Parents
request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their children...just an idea...you mention all the parents & know that others are involved also :)

I agree too many names.
I say do Together with their families maybe instead of parents

ohh i like that one. but i really like the line about joining together in love, laughter, friendship and family... too wordy ya think??

at least i am thankful that my issue is that all of these people paying for us is what is make this so difficult!! im actually thankful that this so far is my biggest problem!!

DEFINITELY THE FIRST ONE. THe second one is nice, but leaves out your mom's BF who is also contributing.
I used the same wording as your first one.....there were just soooo many complications.....that is the easiest way to NOT leave anyone out.
If you feel a real obligation to mention your mom.....do it in your toast on your wedding day.
