Re: invites...
There is only 1 person that I anticipate not coming because she ruined her relationship with my parents and didnt come to my brother or sisters weddings... and thats my dads sister... i dont know if she sent my sisters or brother a gift or not...

Re: invites...
Yes but no intentionally. A friend of my dad is marrying his son the day after my wedding. So we sent a save the date to him before we knew about his son's wedding. We will still be sending him an invite knowing he won't be coming. Whether he sends a gift or not, I don't know.

Re: invites...
nope
however, i am being forced to invite aunt so & so, who wont come & my mom says, 'well at least you may get a $20 gift out of it.'
yeah $20 will go really far:
cost of invite: $5 postage on invite: $0.44 postage on response: $0.44 cost of shower invite: $3 postage of shower invite: $0.44 postage for shower thank you: $0.44 cost of wedding thank you card: $3 postage for wedding thank you: $0.44 cost of favor: $4 postage to mail favor: $6
all of that will cost me $25 already!!
i don't know how i am going to make it past the next 165 days with my mother.

Yes, I have people that I am inviting that I know will not come, and they may not even actually respond. And believe me, I don't even want their gift.
But I am inviting them because they are family and I must.

ITA 100%. My mom is #9 out of 10 and my dad was #9 out of 11, so I have no choice but to give them an invite.
I think a lot of us are in the same boat.

Re: invites...
I have to disagree here. I have an aunt on my dad's side who I am not inviting. We've never, ever gotten along and she doesn't get along with many of my other relatives. I simply don't want her there with her drama, screw a gift! And since it's my wedding and no one else's, not to be a brat, but it's my choice!
On a more positive note, I am definitely inviting people that are so-so with me but I feel like I should still invite them out of courtesy...I'm not a complete beeyotch!

Yup. And the people that aren't coming I don't expect a gift either.

Re: invites...
i invited people i knew wouldn't come but not for the gift, mostly because they had to be invited (like relatives, family friends, etc who live out of town)
