INVITES - help on basics ...

Ok, i think i better start working on my invites ...

Can anyone tell me what the technical term is for the shiny, raised, lettering on formal invites? They look like shiny glue ... oh god, please help me out!

Not a good start ...

Also, in case i decide to DIY, where is the best place to buy metallic cardstocks? Are there standard sizes for them? I think I'm going for 5x7 size ...

TIA!

Thermography....at least I know that thermography is raised printing...pretty sure it's shiny.

There are lots of DIY invite websites.....I just don't know what they are. sorry.

I know there's lots of paper stores in the city also. Paper Presentation on 18th st. is a good one. Lee's Art Shop on 57th has lots of paper too.
