Invites- how long before wedding to send?

Invites- how long before wedding to send?

Also, is it before due date or before actual wedding,. I want responses back Feb.22, should i send them 4-6 weeks before or 6-8 weeks before?

I am planning on sending my invites out about 10 weeks before my wedding date

Mine are going out by the 12th of this month with a response date of 2/18.

at least 1 month before the response date

I was told to be mailed so that they arrive 6-8 weeks before actual wedding date...I sent them a little early

Thanks btrflygrl, I think I will be ok with mid january. I am finalizing list now then need to bring it to calligrapher, then put it together!

im sending mine out next week .. the response date is 2/27

Thanks for all of the advice ladies. I was just ready that I wouldn't have them out on time!

I think you should send them out 4-6 weeks before.

Six (6) weeks before the event is the norm. We however, sent ours in May 2002 for our August 2002 wedding. We sent our international and Canadian invites in February 2002. It worked out well giving time for our guests to prepare their schedules and shop around for the best airfares, etc. We've already blocked 5 hotels with a total of 75 rooms.

we are sending the international ones in may and the regular ones in june for our october wedding - i figured everyone already knows whether or not they are comming because we sent save the date cards and alot of people wrote back they will be there or not already -
this way i figure they have time to get familiar with the specifics so they know where they are going to be :)
we are including a things to do on long island sheet for out of town guests
