I am already hearing crap about having it on Sunday. now why is this a shock when i sent out a STD??!! I didn't know i had to check w/people to see if its ok by them to have a sunday wedding.
then a good a friend of mine at work all of sudden has another wedding to go to. I see her everyday & this is the first i'm hearing of it. personally, i think she is lying for whatever reason. i really am a little disappointed.
On a brighter note, a few friends of ours said they are celebrating Greek Easter a week earlier so they can come. thats what i call good friends
i don't expect everybody to come. just don't lie to me or give me grief.
ugh ... unfortunately i think this is only the beginning. i just keep telling myself as long as the people i love are there. thats what counts. but i can't help feeling disappointed if a few people i wanted there are not.

Hey, sorry this is happening to you .. People can be so rude.. the only people that really need to be there are you and FH .. so everyone else can go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell people that when they pay for your wedidng then they can make choices.. I have used the many times

There are always going to be people that have something negative to say. I've heard people making comments that my wedding is on Mother's Day weekend. I mean give me a break! The wedding is a Friday, Mother's Day is Sunday! Try to surround yourself with true friends who are happy for you no matter what.

the less people that attend means more $$ in your pocket OR to spend on the guests that DO come to your wedding. If they need to make up lies to avoid your wedding then those are people that you really don't want there anyway

Thanks girls...
i just don't get it... who cares what day of the week you get married. in most cases you know about a year in advance so you can either make other arrangements or just deal with going to work a little tired on Monday.

I am sorry about that. I've learned that during the wedding process is when you find out who is in your life for the right reason. The people worth having in your life will be there because they couldn't see it any other way.

We sent out STDs a year in advance ...
the really impt people will be there, even though we're getting married on a Sunday. It will be interesting to see which of our OOT friends make the trip.

i know this sounds bad but i really don't care if my mother's friend or FMIL cousin's cousin etc who i never met don't come... BUT i am upset because this is a girl who i see everyday & all year kept saying i can't wait for your wedding. then all of a sudden 2 months before you have another wedding on the same day

Did a family member decide to get married last minute?
A friend (not very close, but someone I would have liked to attend) RSVP'd yes to our e-party and then cancelled the week before because it turned out she had a christening to go to that she didn't know about.
I think I'm the only one on here with my date, and it's a Sunday, but one of my BM's friends sisters is getting married on the same day, same time! (in NJ)

No i don't think so. she happen to tell me this as i was leaving for the day. i guess she told me so we can avoid talking about it.

People just don't getthe fact if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all in this wedding process you will really see who your true friends are and who ever doesn't come its their loss just enjoy your day screw everyone else

i hear ya... you know every day i wake up i try to focus on the positive. then somebody will say/do something stupid to get me all POed.
i should have just got married at the church then go to restaurant with only immediate family & very close friends.
oh well too late now

Hey! Try not to sweat it....after all are those ppl you want to celebrate the happiest date of your life with? It seems like you send out an STD and its always 'oh Lindsay and Jason are getting married' and then it goes on the fridge or in a drawer, with the date never having been looked at.
The woman you work wtih - oh well...not that great a friend...land you know what? Her fault shell be missing out on the BEST wedding she has ever been too...
So i say to her!
Feel better and try not to stress it...everyones going to b itch and complain....just say oh ok and let it back out the other ear..... oh well THEIR loss!

I can't stand it.
So far we haven't had any complaints about the Sunday date.... a lot of our friends are off for the summer (my law student buddies will be done with summer jobs but not back for school yet and my teacher friends will still be off) and my family members are Jewish and understand the no-Shabbat thing.
FH's family members are taking off 4-5 days to make a vacation out of it anyway, so it doesn't really matter to them.
It will be interesting to see which of our friends come. They definitely have enough notice

Im having my wedding on a Sunday and at first I was really self conscious about it and feeling bad about it but now, I m totally over that! If in order to afford my DREAM wedding, I have to have it on Sunday, then I will and the people who really matter will be there....and lets be real...Fridays and Sundays are becoming much more popular now and neither of them are the MOST convenient, but weddings are not supposed to be based on convenience, they are supposed to be about a marriage. Try not to let people get to you!

I absolutely agree with you. I used to think like some and say 'oh it has to be on a saturday' well, we couldn't afford a saturday. Some prefer Friday's over Sundays, some Sunday's over Fridays, some afternoon over evening....that's why the industry is sooo huge because we have choices that fit our budget and lifestyle and just like everyone said already......
Those that are truly happy for you and FH will be there for you no matter what they have to do to get there, so don't worry about the rest.
