invites start

invites start

So I finally sat down and started the invite process this weekend. I feel like nothing is going to be good enough and here is why. BOTH FH and I are graphic designers...So people are expecting these cool, fancy, high end, self designed, innovative invites, like we do for everyone else... well I really dont want that lol. I want simple and elegant.

So this is literally a REALLY ROUGH draft for the inner part to a pocket fold. (still have to get samples of colors for pockets... Our colors are black and champagne so depending on the pockets we get I will match the shadow color to them. Figured I would get them printed on a creamy stock paper... what do we think?

Remember.. very rough draft.

I LOVE it; that's similar to what i had in mind for myself! Understated elegance goes a long way.

yup yup I did them myself... they were magnets and you cant see them but I glued on little crystals, that I think I might put on the invites as well. I have a picture of the final product somewhere on the cards w/ ribbon and what not I will post it when I find it.

no i saw the lil crystals its beautiful. you just made my STD's look cheap.lol you got talent girl. you should do it as a side job making invites and STD's a lil nice side income. I didnt want the tradational card invite so i had hand made scrolls made from india. but yours are amazing.

Ohh that sounds Gorgeous!!! You have to post pics! And thank you! I actually do some of it on the side already when I have the time but don't solicit on here because I don't want to get kicked off the site, this is my getaway lol.

Very pretty!! A suggestion, though? Make it 'Together with their parents' instead of 'Together with our parents'--invitations (I think) sound nicer/fancier in third person.

Just a suggestion--feel free to ignore/yell at me!

First of all, I LOVE your STD!

I think the invites will look AMAZING once there is some color involved (especially the champagne cardstock you mentioned)! There is nothing classier than simple black designs. I love it, it's understated and elegant. The champagne coloring will add so much!
