I sent one to everyone! (some say you don't have to send one to the BP, b/c of course they are coming...but I think the same should go for the FIL (of course their coming..but they should get their own1)

Plus your BP may want to bring a guest.

IMO its a formal wedding ......every single person there should get an invite.

don't worry, i did the same thing. all of the calligraphy was done and I had totally forgotten about our parents! i had to ask her to do a few more

Parents usually like to save their kids wedding invite

I totally agree. It's definitely worth the postage to save years of them potentially holding it against you for not sending one. Not worth risking them having hurt feelings.
