Invites - too many, what do I do???

So I started with a friend of a friend a while back with invites - she said she would have something for me w/in 2 weeks, I followed up then she said I was next in line. This was MONTHS ago (I'm talking like 6-7) and after that last e-mail I had not heard anything from her until today.

I get 4 proofs but b/c it took so long for her to get back to me I started with T E S S A and am waiting for my 2nd mock up.

I guess I could have followed up again w/ vendor #1 my IMO I shouldn't have to - you want my business and you tell me I'm next in line, you should keep me posted on the status of my proofs.

So what do I do? I like T E S S A's mock up better but still waiting for the 2nd one. I had mentioned to T E S S A a while ago that I had started the process w/ someone else as a heads up.

I just don't want to pi$$ anyone off - know what I mean??

Ugh....did you give either of them any money? I think its good that gave gave T E S S a heads up....it might help if you end up backing out with her. Assuming you havent paid or signed anything yet, I think I would just go with whichever you like better. If you end up having to cancel the first one just explain that when you hadnt heard from her in 7 months you had to do what you had to do. Especially considering she said 2 weeks originally. Come to think of it, what if it turns into another 7 months on the next round? If you do end up sticking with her just make absolutely sure you will end up getting the finals early enough to avoid extra stress before the wedding. HTH

i changed my mind. I'd go w T E S S A. she has positive reviews and she handled your proof in a timely manner.

No money has been exchanged - thank goodness. I just feel bad b/c vendor #1 is a friend of a friend, so I don't want to seem rude.

But I don't like that I haven't heard anything for months and then all of a sudden - boom, proofs. I am nervous that will happen with the actual invites (just like what Lindy said).

I would go with t e s s a. I would thank the first vendor for sending proofs but then tell her that you had contacted another invitation place in the meantime that you decided to go with. She can't be too upset if she made you wait 6-7 months for a proof that was supposed to take 2 weeks. If I went with the 2nd vendor I would also be wayyyyyy too scared that she would take foreverrrrr with the invites and that I would be stressing out over not receiving them on time. HTH!

I'd go with T E S S A! She seems very reliable and you never know, the first vendor may not finish on time. If you feel bad about hurting her feeling make up a little lie...say your mom found invitations on line that she really loved and offered to buy them for you as a gift. No one needs to know the truth
